Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, hosted one of the aviation industry’s key global events between May 13–15, 2025. The Istanbul Jet executive management and aviation operations sales team participated in the Aviation Energy Forum (AEF), organized by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), where leading figures of the sector convened.
The forum, which addressed the future of the aviation industry, encompassed the Aviation Fuel Forum and the Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Symposium. Airline representatives, fuel and SAF suppliers, and strategic partners came together to set priorities and exchange views on sustainable solutions.
The event, exclusively open to IATA members and strategic partners, brought together airline fuel procurement managers, sustainability experts, fuel suppliers, and industry leaders. Throughout the event—regarded as a valuable networking opportunity for forming new business connections throughout the year—critical decisions were made to shape the future of the sector.
Sustainable Energy, Limitless Journeys
Attending the event alongside the aviation operations team, which held productive meetings with key airlines from its extensive customer portfolio—including Qatar Airways, All Nippon Airlines, Pegasus Airlines, Wizz Air, and LOT Polish Airlines—Hüseyin Latifoğlu, General Manager of Istanbul Jet Aviation and Fuel Services Inc., shared his impressions:
“Meeting with industry professionals in Baku, a city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and surrounded by modern skyscrapers, rich culture, and cuisine, was truly fulfilling. Beyond offering valuable networking opportunities, we see IATA meetings as essential for collectively understanding the sector’s evolving dynamics and interpreting the future. In line with our vision of enabling limitless journeys through sustainable energy, attending this forum following the SAF imports we initiated earlier this year will add strategic value to our operations.”
